The Need is Simply Critical--WJ Rosser
I was dismayed to read that the media is already talking about closing the museum.
Access to history and our literary heritage is going to be gone. Thankfully, the building is protected by landmark laws, but who wants to drive by? This is the house in which Poe started and ended his career. He wrote MS. Found in a Bottle here.(The picture above is an illustration from an early edition by Wommel.) That story was so influential that many critics credit it with influencing the entire class of tragic sea voyage stories such as Moby Dick.
Help us save it!
We'll have t-shirts soon, donated by a wonderful businessman local to me. In addition, we'll have e-readers to give away soon, too.
I'm happy to say we have so far accepted stories from Aaron Patterson, Bill Butler, Zain Richard Bennett and more. Beautiful poetry has been supplied as well. This is shaping up to be a fabulous anthology. I'm so honored to be able to participate in this project.
You can participate, too. Can you take just a moment to pre-order an anthology? Can you donate?
The Poe House needs you, and you can help.
